Pneumatic cast steel ball valves

Introduction

Pneumatic cast steel ball valves are widely used in process control systems by adopting trunnion mounted structure according to API 6D and ISO 17292.

Working principle

After the compressed air enters into the pneumatic actuator, it will drive valve stem and ball to rotate 0-90 degrees for switching and adjustment operations.

When the working pressure in the pipeline is low, the valve seat seal relies on the spring preload to make the valve seat close to the ball to achieve sealing. When the working pressure is high, a piston effect is formed on the valve seat, and under the action of the upstream medium pressure, the valve seat is pressed against the sphere to achieve sealing.

Features

1. Pneumatic actuator adopts scotch yoke type with large output torque and modular design;

2. The ball is supported by the upper and lower bearings, which reduces friction and eliminates excessive torque caused by the huge sealing load formed by the inlet pressure pushing the ball and the sealing seat.

3. The PTFE material sealing ring is embedded in the stainless steel valve seat, and a spring is provided at the end of the metal valve seat to ensure sufficient pre-tightening force of the sealing ring.

4. In order to prevent the teflon sealing ring from burning out due to sudden heat or fire, causing a large leakage and promoting the fire, a fireproof sealing ring is set between the ball and the valve seat. Under the action, the valve seat sealing ring is quickly pushed to the sphere to form a metal-to-metal seal, which has a certain degree of sealing effect.
