Introduction
Pneumatic ball valve with spring return actuator adopts the Scotch Yoke Pneumatic Actuator single-acting type (spring return), which has safer and more reliable performance. For ball valves used in low pressure, ultra-low pressure or vacuum conditions, the valve seat sealing structure loaded by spring can ensure the reliable sealing of the ball valve for long-term use. The seat material of the medium and high temperature ball valve can be made of para-polyphenylene or metal material, which is mainly used to cut off or connect the fluid medium in the pipeline.
How spring return actuators work
Spring return pneumatic actuators, or single-acting pneumatic actuators, are generally divided into normally open type (Air to close and fail to open) and normally closed type ( Air to open and fail to close ).
If it is normally open type, the pneumatic actuator closes the valve when the air goes into the actuator. If the air source fails or there is a sudden power failure, the spring return pneumatic actuator automatically resets by the spring. Generally, it is used more in dangerous working conditions, such as transporting flammable gas or flammable liquid. When the air source is lost and an emergency occurs, the spring return pneumatic actuator can automatically reset to minimize the danger, while the double-acting cannot be reset.
Features
(1) When the valve is open, the minimum flow resistance is acquired as the passage of the valve is completely equal to the passage of the pipeline.
(2) The thrust bearing reduces the friction torque of the valve stem, so that the long-term operation of the valve stem can be balanced and flexible.
(3) he sealing ring made of PTFE and other materials is easy to seal in structure, and the sealing capacity of the ball valve increases with the increase of medium pressure.
(4) Since the valve stem only rotates and does not move up and down, the packing seal of the valve stem is not easy to be damaged, and the sealing capacity increases with the increase of the pressure of the medium.
(5) Due to the good self-lubricating properties of PTFE and other materials, the friction loss with the ball is small, and the service life of the ball valve is long.
(6) The bottom-mounted valve stem and the convex step on the head of the valve stem prevent the valve stem from being ejected. If the valve stem seal is damaged due to fire, metal contact can be formed between the convex step and the valve body to ensure the valve stem seal.
(7) The scotch yoke pneumatic valve actuator has a modular design, high stability and high output torque in line with the standard VDI/VDE 3845 and NAMUR standard., which make it convenient to install all control accessories, such as limit switches, electrical positioners , position sensor, etc.
